eAdvocate TidbitsMegan's Law father Richard Kanka wins uncontested NJ Senate primary Richard Kanka has won an uncontested primary for a Republican nomination for a seat in New Jersey's state Senate. Kanka is the father of Megan Kanka, a 7-year-old girl raped and killed by a convicted sex offender near her home in Hamilton in 1994. Her death led to Megan's Laws in New Jersey and around the nation. They require public notification when sex offenders move in to a neighborhood.

U.S. Supreme Court Decision in ComstockThe last possible step in appealing COMSTOCK, GRAYDON E., ET AL. V. UNITED STATES was denied on Monday. Folks may remember that was the case about "Federal Civil Commitment" and whether it was constitutional or not, well the U.S. Supreme court has now held it is constitutional under the facts of the Comstock case. There isn't much more than can be said at this time. More in the news article here.
